ABOUT ME
Dr Ahsan Shamim is a graduate of King Edward Medical College (MBBS, ’87). He completed his general surgical fellowship from the UK in 1991 (F.R.C.S. Edinburgh) and following this he obtained higher surgical training in orthopaedic surgery in the UK, which then culminated in him obtaining his F.R.C.S (ORTH) and becoming the first Pakistani to obtain this qualification.
Dr Ahsan Shamim is an eminent orthopaedic surgeon with over 30years of experience, which particularly includes an 11 year-long tenure at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital.
He holds an excellent track record of successful orthopaedic surgeries and treatments and regularly performs more than 300 primary and revision joint replacements (Knee, Hip and Shoulder) annually with outstanding results.
His other fields of special expertise are arthroscopic surgery such as advanced arthroscopic ligament reconstructions of the knee, musculoskeletal tumour surgery with endoprosthetic reconstruction (limb salvage), and advanced Alizarin surgery, in addition to general orthopaedics.
As the Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Horizon Hospital, Dr Ahsan Shamim leads the Centre for Joint Replacement and Orthopaedic Surgery (CJROS) at Horizon Hospital, which is managed by his trusted team of professionals.
