Urology Cancer Surgery

Overview

Urology cancers may affect the kidneys, ureter, bladder, urethra, and in men, the penis, prostate and testicles. Urology cancers are caused by abnormal cell growth that occurs in the organs of the urinary tract and the male reproductive tract. Smoking is the most common cause of these cancers, particularly Bladder Cancer. Kidney Cancer incidence is increased in hypertensive and obese patients. Top cancers in men include prostate cancer where as Bladder cancer is ranked at number six. Most urology cancers need surgical treatment either alone or in combination with other modalities like radiation and chemotherapy. These cancers carry a fairly good prognosis when patients present at an early stage and treated promptly.
